Dublin-based FundSME.ie has opened an office in Kingston, Jamaica, where it has connected with Digicel Business, an arm of international telecoms firm Digicel, to source loans for small businesses.

Elon Parkinson, head of public relations for Digicel Jamaica explained on Wednesday that the association was one based on sponsorship of an upcoming SME conference to be held in Kingston in the final quarter of the year.

FundSME, he told the Jamaica Observer, was a third party agency for small and medium-sized companies in need of the best available funding for their projects.

Meanwhile, CEO of FundSME, Nollaig Fahy told Sunday Finance that Jamaica had been chosen as its first Caribbean stop because the SME business landscape was very similar to Ireland.
