Jennifer Thompson is still seeking assistance to get back on her feet after her home collapsed last month due to heavy rain that has been pelting north-eastern parishes in recent weeks.

The resident of Richmond, St Mary, told the Jamaica Observer last week that her cry for help has not been answered.

“Nobody nuh help we since yuh come,” Thompson said, making reference to the Observer’s visit over three weeks ago.

Late last month, Thompson’s 13-member family was displaced after their two-storey house collapsed when the soil underneath it washed away during continuous rainfall. This ordeal came six days after her daughter’s shop was burgled.
